All meetings will be on the 1st Tuesday each month. 
Childcare is provided in the gymnasium.

Mission Statement 
The mission of the Longfellow School Parent Teacher Organization is to provide enhanced educational opportunities for our students through fundraising and organizing activities involving cultural enrichment, science, literacy, nature and the arts, and to encourage community and shared experiences with the families and neighborhoods that surround our school. 

Who is the PTO?
The membership of the PTO consists of all parents of children enrolled in Longfellow School, all teachers and non-teaching staff members of the school including Terry Young, our Principal. The PTO is comprised of the general group of parents as well as six sub-committees; Poet's Hideaway/Learning Garden, Cultural Enrichment, Programs, Library, Auction and Care Committee.

How does the PTO raise money?
The PTO will fundraise using the Hannaford gift card program (to be introduced to families in late September).  The other major fundraiser is the Longfellow Auction which will be held this spring.  The money raised by the PTO fund field trips and teacher and staff needs.

When does the PTO meet?
The PTO typically meets the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the school library and free childcare is 
provided in the school gym.

participating in the PTO!

ATTEND the Back to School BBQ in September.

ATTEND the Kindergarten coffee.

ENJOY roller skating at Happy Wheels 

ATTEND the PTO-sponsored Book Fair in the fall.

ATTEND the Longfellow Auction in March. 
This is an exciting, adult-only evening event.

VOLUNTEER as a Room Parent. 
Responsibilities include attending PTO meetings and 
communicating with parents and the teacher about PTO events.

GET INVOLVED with the PTO Clubs & Classes Program. 
Share a special skill or talent with our students, or join us and 
help organize and coordinate the program.

ATTEND and HELP at our Spring Fair in June.

ENJOY the Learning Garden behind the school.

CONTRIBUTE to the Thanksgiving and Holiday Families.

SAVE General Mills Box Tops for Education and 
Hannaford  "school dollar certificates."

USE the Clynk bags provided in the office to return 
recyclables that benefit the PTO.
