Behind Longfellow School there is a wonderful
learning garden that has been developed into a hands-on learning lab
for our students. This space is a valuable teaching tool as well as a
place for school and community events. We are often in need of
volunteer support and encourage those who are interested or have a
project idea, gardener or not, to contact Longfellow parents Amy Segal [email protected] (807-8092)
Volunteers and materials needed:
- Work day volunteers
- Master gardeners
- Classroom parents to work with interested teachers
- Donated annuals and perennials in the spring
- Donated mulch and fertilizer
- Help taming our plants that need to be trained
- Summer help with watering and maintenance
